Fairwater move a point clear at top despite loss at University #cardiff #snooker

Who knew that not playing could be so good for you? Ok, Penarth Legion did drop one position, but they are closer now to being true Tuesday League title challengers than at any time since a famous pink a few years ago.

Their lead at the top was usurped by Fairwater, but only just, as the Uni proved their everpresent threat and beat the reigning champions 3-2, thanks to Captain Rhys Carpenter, who closed it out to continue excellent form this year. County could have closed the gap, but a bad run for Luke and a bad run of form for me meant they only won 3-2 after leading Rileys 3-0.

Mack got back to winning ways in emphatic style, sending Trec back to the Valleys with a 4-1 beating, while Savoy narrowly saw off Penarth Road 3-2 to remain a presence near the top of the table.

Next week is the semi finals of the Cup, so Mack will play Penarth Road, while County host Fairwater. Repeat, the game is at County – HT please note, in case I told you differently when we were last at your venue.
