Fairwater Cons Mack are through to the Malcolm Keenor Trophy final after two frames was enough to beat Rumney British Legion 6-1 on aggregate. They had a 4-1 lead from the first leg, and Alan Hurley’s win on the pink against Paul Chichester left them one frame from victory, with Brian Rees finishing off the match after a close win over Alex Ellis. The final will give Ronnie Allen’s side the chance to defend the trophy they won last season and with it the opportunity to win a second successive league and cup double.

Their opponents in the final are Taff’s Well after a tense match saw them defeat Mackintosh Snooker 4-1 and overturn a first leg deficit to win 6-4. Ian Purnell won the opener against Billy Connors after a clearance following a fluked brown, and another final ball decider saw Jimmy Llewellyn beat Nathan Dunne to make it 2-0. A very good performance from Mike Nessbert kept his side in the match with victory over Rhys Carpenter, but some solid potting from Rob Hayes put Taff’s Well 5-4 ahead on aggregate after defeating Stephen Connors. Congratulations to Nural Khan after he registered the highest league break of the season for his side RBL Warriors, with a superb 101 clearance against Fairwater Cons Mack in Week 12.

Congratulations to Jason Hewett who is the CDSA 2023-24 Player of the Year, after winning the individual rankings with an outstanding 17/18 record.

He finished ahead of Steffan Davies of Fairwater Cons and team-mate Khurram Khan who both had 15/18, and with having already won the Premier League title, it is another excellent season for Hewett who wins the Player of the Year title for the fifth time.

Fairwater Cons Mack completed their 2023-24 league campaign with a resounding 4-1 win over Taff’s Well to finish 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League, the biggest winning margin since 2006. The first frame was a tightly-contested one with Jason Hewett winning on the black against Ian Purnell, before Alan Hurley comfortably beat Tom Cross to make it 2-0. Khurram Khan finishes joint-second in the individual rankings after he defeated Jimmy Llewellyn on the colours to seal the win and Jacob Boyle’s victory over Glyn Jones made it 4-0, before Kevin Brown’s consolation win against Ronnie Allen secured third place for his side.

Canton Libs finish level on points with Taff’s Well after they beat runners-up Fairwater Cons 3-2, but had to come from behind after Rob McKenna’s win against Ed Topham. James Facey levelled the match after beating Twm Sion Jones and Rory Wigmore put Canton ahead with victory over Terry Garland. James Wigmore made sure of the win after defeating Steve Flanagan, before Steffan Davies secured joint runners-up spot in the individual rankings after beating Tony Chick.

Mackintosh Snooker finished their season with a 5-0 whitewash of Roath Cons to win Division One by nine points, with Eassa Din winning the opener against Andrew Champion. Mike Nessbert doubled their lead after beating Alan Wright, and Billy Connors secured the win after he defeated Clive Marsh. Craig Bolton’s defeat of Phil Storer made it 4-0 and Nathan Dunne completed the victory after beating Lee Cornock. Meanwhile, The Cons secured runners-up
