Fairwater increased their lead at the top of the Premier League this week with a decisive 5-0 victory over relegation-threatened Canton Libs B to move four points clear with only two games remaining. Wins for Twm Jones, Ben Griffiths, Steffan Davies, Steve Flanagan and Terry Garland leave them knowing that a 3-2 win in both of their remaining matches will be enough to secure the title.

Mackintosh are their only realistic challengers for the title after they defeated an under-strength Trecenydd side 3-2 to remain in the hunt and with a 5-0 walkover in the final game of the season against Senghenydd already decided they know that a big win next week will give them a chance to pip Fairwater to the trophy. The Caerphilly side have had to forfeit their last four matches meaning Canton Libs Z had a 5-0 walkover with a 6-point deduction for Senghenydd.

Savoy’s reign as champions looks over after they lost 4-1 at home to Taff’s Well leaving them six points behind the leaders, whilst back-to-back wins has taken Taff’s Well clear of last place in the Premier League.

Cathays Cons won 4-1 at Cuesaders to make themselves favourites to stay up ahead of a potentially crucial home match against Taff’s Well next week, whilst Llandaff Warriors defeated Rumney British Legion by the same scoreline.
