Penarth Road close gap on leaders as Savoy lose first match

For week 6, we have the same leaders in the Premier League, but their lead has been cut. Savoy lost for the first time this season, while Penarth Road used a win over Mackintosh to move closer as the main challengers. Similarly narrow wins for Fairwater and County keeps them in the hunt, while most of the 100% players for the season continued their runs of victories to stay atop the rankings.

The congestion in the middle of the table thinned out slightly, as the higher teams seemed mostly to record wins over some of the slightly lower teams, but Canton put themselves back in the mix with a solid win over South Wales Snooker. Meanwhile, the Artists Formerly Known As Mackintosh B might soon stake a claim to the name of Mackintosh A – only number of games won keeps them from being the best team in their club.

Top break reported this week was a 64 by Mark Bennett.
